I went to several post offices in the area today trying to mail out my packages. Here is what I learned. First, when you call the post office's 1-800 number they will tell you all post offices in the New Orleans area are fully operational. This is false. Here is a rundown of the ones I visited:

- Post office in Metairie near Lakeside mall - power is out. You can go there to buy stamps and to drop off mail if it is stamped. They do not have a scale so they cannot do anything involving weighing. They are expecting to receive a scale soon but don't know when.

- Kenner post office - Williams and W. Napoleon - Has one scale so is open and has only one line. It was VERY packed. The Metairie PO was sending everyone there.

- Carrollton Uptown (near Earhart) - You can drop mail off here but no postal workers present. Area where the counters are was closed.

- Louisiana (near Napoleon) - Could drop off mail here but no postal workers.

- Downtown PO (Loyola and Girod) - Open and had 3 workers. Can bring packages there. It looks like you can't get there because the National Guard is in the area, but if you park a few blocks away they will let you walk over to the post office.

I'm 22, a recent college grad, and a cub reporter in New York City. The best part of my job is that I see something new everyday, and I write about it a lot. Also, other variations on the general theme of figuring out life in the real world. I was going to move to Cambodia but now I think I might just move to Brooklyn instead. I'm Ashley Joalene Roberts. While my mother loved the named Ashley, my dad loved it because of the character in "Gone With the Wind" named Ashley. My middle name was my maternal grandmother's first name and I never met her. I just turned 20 on July 27th. I'm a college freshman and beauty school drop out, majoring in mental health and human services. I'm the shortest person most of my friends know, coming in at a whopping four feet, nine inches. I have medical problems up the wazoo, that all intertwine with each other in some way. I was diagnosed bipolar a little over a year ago and have just recently seeked treatment for it. Along the way, I was diagnosed with ADHD, panic disorder with agoraphobia, and social phobias. I've been in a psychiatrist's chair since I was 11, though. I live with my parents and my boyfriend, for the time being. I have days where I realize that I'm stronger than I think I am. My mom tells me that I'm assertive, not aggressive. I have a constant headache. I'm the daughter of an alcoholic mother and a Vietnam veteran father. I have 2 tattoo's, both from the band Saves The Day, my nose pierced and my lip pierced. I'm in love with the most amazing man, Sam. We've been together for almost a year and a half and I wouldn't be anywhere I am right now, without him.

SO ABOUT LAST NIGHT...REDSKINS VERSUS GIANTS
Periodically I will be making a post in reference to my fantasy football that I am playing at work. Don't like it or don't understand it? Too bad.

Well, 133 yards receiving is nice and all. I would've been happier if Eli Manning/Michael Phelps threw a TD pass to him, but oh well.

The story.

It's just a giant pig costume with a chef hat. Stolen from a Japanese game show set and somehow, it shows up at his door. No way he would order such a costume. Now if it were a banana suit similar to that of the "Peanut Butter & Jelly Time" song and dance number, yes, he would put down some money. But it sits there in a corner, the head staring straight at him. What do do with it he thinks. A week later he is inside the suit singing re-writes of rap songs tailored for children. Nothing short of genius for the people responsible for taking the song "Gold Digger," and twisting it into a song talking about how much fun archaeology can be as a career. No way one single human being would've exercised their brain that much to re-write that. It was a group effort. Every other day he is at the fabric store buying yards of pink felt to replace the tears and holes that children put on his ass. Scissors, butter knives, sticks and firecrackers. His ass has taken a pounding similar to a girl in a porno flick jumping into the fray of six well endowned men. He sees the same girl at the checkout stand week in and week out. She no longer questions why he buys so much pink felt. She just has a twinkle in his eye. He doesn't return the twinkle, but it doesn't mean he doesn't care. It was two months ago that she took him into the loading dock at the back of the store and rode him to where he had a limp for a week. The plastic royal blue vest that is part of her work uniform, she thinks it's an embarassment to her new fall wardrobe from H&M, but he, he loved it as it was the only thing between his body and her body at the time. The twinkle is still there as he leaves the store and he is weak at the knees. No it isn't love he's feeling. He's perplexed as to why he gets this feeling from her. If his dark side would only show up around her, there would no longer be a twinkle. You see when he is in that pig costume and the children are giving him enemas, he is looking through the screen on the chef's hat at the mothers. These women in their 30s and 40s, clinging on the remnants of their wild party days, they exercise and take what was once a supple, young body and transform it into an experienced body that baby, can still go the distance. He looks at them as yes, another notch on the board for his sport. Yes, he does that. But he also makes it their greatest moment in their life as well as their last. Don't ask him how many bodies he's dumped into the creek. Or the caves. Or the valley. These children's parties he goes to, as a giant pig with a chef hat, he is looking for the next rush. Any trophies he gets out of these moments, they're in his head. He knows better than to collect something. It's all material. However, he never gets this feeling when he sees the girl at the fabric store. Maybe his knees buckle because he fears he will slip up and not be as methodical. In any case he puts the pink felt in his trunk. He climbs into the drivers seat, the phone rings, and he answers, "Six-two Central, this is the Captain, I'm en route."

Hey, I'm Kim. I'm 17, and I live in Scotland. I just made this journal about 3 days ago, but I've been on livejournal for years. I live in Tullibody, which is a place no-one has heard of in central Scotland. But I'm off to stay in Glasgow soon, as I'm now a student of Glasgow Caledonian, in which I'm studying Business && Management. I work in Next in Stirling, in the stockroom - that is, until Saturday, which is my last shift *tear*

I like music, my favourite bands being Fleetwood Mac, and Lostprophets. I've seen Lostprophets 3 times, and am hoping to see Fleetwood Mac next year, as they are touring, woooop. I also like; Thin Lizzy, Paramore, 30 Seconds To Mars, Avenged Sevenfold, Rise Against, Journey, Rihanna, System Of A Down, Adam and The Ants and so much more.

I also like films, my favourites being; Gone With The Wind, Green Street and The Sound Of Music. I do like a lot more though, such as Hocus Pocus, Wedding Crashers, Four Weddings and A Funeral, American Beauty, Waynes World, Beverly Hill Cop 1, 2 && 3, and a lot more.

I used to think I didn't watch all that much TV, but then Sky+ was installed in my house...Big mistake. I adore Home && Away, it's like the love of my life. I also lovelovelove The Mighty Boosh, and am going to see the live show in Edinburgh on the 12th of September =]]   Law && Order: Special Victims Unit is also a favourite of mine, and Gladiators is my guilty pleasure - both the old and new episodes.



Apart from listening to music and watching stuff, I like going out with friends, shopping [even though I fail to ever find things I want//need], reading, and general people watching.

I involve myself in all creative arts, but more specifically literature and sketching. Both have been with me since I was able to hold a pencil.

When I say I love music, I even mean the genres that no one likes to claim. Country and Gospel included.

I'm not big on politics, but I dabble enough to know who I'm voting for.

I travel to small towns a lot.

I have one dreadlock in my head that is about two years old; I refuse to cut it. =]

As you'll notice almost immediately, I'm a huge supporter of all types of love. I have a borderline obsession with white men, and I'm partial to females (meaning they're fun to be with, but hard to be committed to).

My journal is friends-only, but a simple comment should do it. It's just a security measure.

I'll add anyone, but I'm generally looking for like-minded people, the morally ambiguous, the animal lover and eater, and you must spill your guts in your entries. That's what a journal is for, right?

I'm a stay-at-home mom with two girls. I'm creative and love creativity.
I love my boyfriend and have been with him for three years, but I still get a little flirty. I have a weakness for chocolate and I like to drink wine. I love the Venture Brothers. I think I'll always be a bit of a little girl inside.

You might see me geek out about health related subjects, art, or football, among other interests on my bio once in a while but most of my entries are about interactions I have with other people, especially when sex is on my mind. That is quite the constant for me actually.

 I started this journal up about 3 weeks ago as a place to store memories so I update often. My own memory is crap and I get a lot out of reading old hand written journals from way back when. The only difference is now I’m writing things online, letting complete strangers read them, and throw in their two cents. I’m not going to be offended if you read my journals and delete me. Tis life, you can’t get to know someone unless you read their shit and you can’t enjoy everyone’s company once you get to know them.

Entries are pretty much streams of thought on my part and they get damn long. I can’t be short and sweet yet interesting at the same time. After all, these messages are basically what I’m going to remember my 20’s by when I become a senile old perv. This will become my legacy to my predecessors after I die. Detail is of the essence. Don’t worry, I’m good about cutting my entries even if I don’t meticulously check for spelling and grammar.

So what am I looking for in an lj friend? Well I like a good story. I’m a sucker for character development and world building in my books and comics; it bleeds over to journaling too. If you feel like you’ve got something to say or an interesting way of telling it please share. For the people that accomplish this, I’ll probably end up reading every post they ever wrote. When the mood strikes me, I devour words. I’ll be honest, I may not read what you have to say immediately. I do get to them eventually and throw down comments when I find something amusing or have an opinion. Hi guys :]

I just wanted to let you guys know that I updated the memories and added a lot of things to them so it will be easier for people to get information on the diet pill they are interested in. It will also eliminate posts asking about the same pills as someone else might have posted about a few days before. I will try to add more to the memories sometime this weekend. I also added pills that are asked about frequently to the tags, so you guys can start tagging entries if you want to.
